Francis Turbines
Francis Turbines with the latest technology we produce today is the most widely used turbine types in Turkey and the world relative to other turbine types. It is preferred because of its high rated speed capacity, highly efficient operation and wide rated net head. For Francis Turbines that we produce, we can provide high efficiency values with verified and well-proven model tests as well as site efficiency measurement on existing Kochendorfer turbines.
We can produce Francis Turbines horizontally and vertically according to the structure of the waterway up to capacity of 50 MW. Our runners are machined on a CNC lathe by harmonizing many technologies and offer the highest level of performance in accordance with the model. Our manufactured Francis Turbines help to reduce construction costs to a minimum by providing higher suction heights.
Energy Production
The working principle of Francis Turbine is as follows:
- The water comes into the body of spiral case at high pressure.
- The water passes through the spiral case and hits the wicket gates.
- As the water hits the wicket gate in a perpendicularly, surface area of the water decreases, and the water pressure increases due to the impact.
- Pressurized water rotates the runner.
- Water leaves the runner at low pressure through the draft tube.
- In this way generator connected to the runner produce electricity.
Project and Design
The production stage is carried out in accordance with the requests of our expert engineer staff as follows:
- Technical drawing and solid modelling are performed by our expert engineers with 3D design software programs.
- Turbine / turbine equipment takes its final form with a 5-axis CNC machining centre while various type of material in our manufacturing facility.
- Quality controls based on specific standards are regularly performed by our experienced engineers.
- Material testing is performed by independent testing institutions at certain times (TSE,S&Q Mart, etc.)
- Within the scope of the project agreement with our customer, the logistics process starts for the installation and commissioning of the plant.
